09 Jan We’re Home…
We’ve made it home. It was, of course, bitter-sweet. Wonderful to see our two children and hold them, but very empty to see a childless crib. I was very proud of Tiffany as she held up well as we were leaving the hospital. All of your prayers to give Tiffany peace seem to have come through. I also think Makoa helped a little.
Before we left, we spent some time with Makoa holding him and I brought my iPhone in to play him some music. I was playing Jesus Messiah by Chris Tomlin when he opened his eyes, looked at me, then looked at Tiff as to say: “Mommy, Daddy, I’m going to be just fine”. It was a very emotional moment for us but it also brought us peace.
We’re still hoping that we make it to Children’s Hospital next week. We obviously want to follow God’s path and make sure it is His will that Makoa should be there. We will continue to pray and see what adventure God brings us.
Above all, I most excited to be surrounded in His warm embrace. Tiffany will be getting up first thing in the morning and going to the hospital to be with our little man. I will be taking Kaialani and Nainoa to church at LCPC to give thanks for all the many blessings we have, and continue to pray for Makoa.

I find myself thinking about you and checking your Daddy’s blog multiple times a day. Although I am not much of a religious person, I strongly believe in the healing power of positive thoughts. I am sending them to you and your Mommy throughout these days. There are so many people who already love you; many who you have not yet met. I pray that you will become healthy and strong so that you can be home to be surrounded by those who love you.
I love you,
Lydia
