I’m going to keep the blog kind of short tonight, I’m pretty tired. Just because we’re running all over-the-place doesn’t mean we can forget about our other children. Nainoa was kind enough to remind me of that last night when he got up about six times. In all fairness, we have definitely taken them out of their routine and they generally don’t do so well “out-of-system” as we say in the volleyball world. What’s really unfair is that they haven’t had a chance to see Makoa yet. Because of the H1N1 nonsense, no one under 18 is allowed in patient areas of the hospital. For now, they simply hug and kiss our iPhone’s that are filled with pictures of our little man.
As for Makoa, he performed wonderfully today. He managed to take down 35 cc’s which is the equivalent of an entire bottle! In the evening feeding he took down 30 cc’s. We’ll be looking pretty good if he can keep up this pace. Makoa also gained another 2oz, measuring in at whopping 5lbs 5oz. If he gets another bump in weight tonight, we will be allowed to move up to three bottle feedings a day. We have to tread lightly though, because when he feeds from the bottle he’s burning calories, and that won’t help him gain weight.
This picture was taken right after his record-setting lunch. As you can see he is pooped and so am I. Until tomorrow…

Just wanted to let you know that we are not only thinking about Makoa, but the two of you as well. This emotional roller coaster must be exhausting, but you seem to be handling it with such strength. You are amazing parents with three very lucky children. We can’t wait to see all of you soon!

Posted at 10:24h, 21 JanuaryDear Lindsey, Tiff, and family,
I just wanted to let you know that you are all in my prayers. It is times like this that truly draw us close to the Lord and make us realize that He is in control. He has given you a blessing and a challenge in this situation and it is obvious that you have taken on this challenge by placing your faith in God. Best wishes, many prayers, and God bless.
Please let me know if there is anything that I can do for you. Until then, you are in our prayers.
Love,
Joy Burns
