I don’t really know what to do with myself. Grammy and Papa took Kaialani and Nainoa out to Palm Springs, and Tiffany is at the hospital with Makoa. I did take advantage after work of my temporary freedom and went to see Avatar. I’ve been trying to go see it for five weeks, but have never quite made it to the theater. I finally managed to go see it in IMAX 3D and it was amazing! I finally got some quality “Only-Child-Time”, as I call it, which was much needed.
After the movie, I stopped by the hospital for about 10 minutes to check on Tiffany and Makoa. I feel fine except for a lingering cough so we both thought it would be better if I kept my distance. I’d hate for Makoa or one of the other children to catch something that I bring in. I threw on a mask and said a quick hello and shot this video and then went back to Manhattan Beach.
I haven’t seen him in three days and he looks absolutely amazing! His face has really started to fill-out and he just looks good. I really feel like he is ready to come home and join our family. The doctors tell us that they really want 48 hours of quality feedings so it looks like Sunday is the day. We will continue to pray that God give both Tiffany and Makoa the strength to make it happen.
Just looking at Tiffany tonight, you can see that her strong spirit has returned. I’ve been concerned about Tiffany throughout this process, but she is truly amazing. I can’t exactly pinpoint when the shift happened, maybe it was once there was a date she could shoot for, but she once again has that fire-in-her-eye. It’s wonderful to see and I praise God that he has given her the strength to pull through the tough times and rejoice in the blessings that Makoa brings.
I wish there was something I could do to help, but I’ll use another sports analogy in honor of the Superbowl this Sunday. Sometimes you put your bench players in the game when the outcome really doesn’t matter or you have a big lead. In the championship, you put your best players in the game to give you the best chance for victory. It’s like we have the best player in the world leading the team right now, and that’s my wife. She is a champion in my eyes and I know if anybody can get our little boy home, it’s her. Hopefully, it will be a great Superbowl Sunday for the Breeden’s!

Posted at 01:09h, 06 FebruaryGod has been so faithful to provide all of your needs up until this point and I know He will continue to do that. The power of prayer is amazing and we will continue to remember Makoa and all of you in our prayers and you enjoy being a complete family once again. Jake wanted to let you know his small group prayed for you guys this week. What a privilege to experience the strength of character we gain from our trials when we allow God to be in control of our lives. We love you all!
