I’m sitting here in the NICU as I’m writing this, watching Tiffany rock our sweet Makoa. This is the first time I’ve seen him today because I was with the other children this morning.
Tiffany got up early this morning and went down to the hospital. I stayed at home and went with the kids to church at LCPC. Tracy was nice enough to stay with Makoa last night while we were home. Of course, minutes after we left, he was opening his eyes and just hanging out. In the middle of the night he was REALLY awake and the nursing staff was kind enough to take a picture.
Not much happened today with Makoa today. One if the neonatologists said that she could tell a difference in strentgth with the little guy which was great to hear. Our favorite little angel-nurse Stacey was also preparing his records in case he gets transferred. It all falls on the insurance and whether or not they’ll accpet it. We will no more tomorrow.
Church today was amazing. A fantastic message on God’s calling. This is something that I’ve been dealing with and has weighed more on me in the last couple of weeks. I am seeing the work that God is doing in my life and I continue to pray He will continue to lead me down the path that brings him glory.
LCPC was kind enough to place Makoa in the bulletin for new births and prayer requests. They also set a rose on the organ in honor of Makoa and gave it to us to take home. It will sit in our house as a reminder of God and our little blessing Makoa. Thank you LCPC!
After church the entire family met up in Torrance for a CPR class. The NICU recommended that anyone watching a child that is in the NICU should go to a class. Regardless, I think it’s important that we all be versed in life saving techniques considering all of the young ones we have in our family. Of course, Pete wanted the “dark” baby and who were we to deny his request?!
We’ve tried to keep it light and inject humor where possible. It has been tough on both Tiffany and I and unfortunately, tomorrow will only get harder. I’m back to work tomorrow which will be a tough emotional test for me. Despite loving my job, I can’t imagine how difficult it will be to sit there knowing your family is in anguish. But… I must provide for my family just as God provides for us. We continue go take it one day at a time

He’s looks beautiful and you will do fine although you would rather be there!! Remember that God has big plans for you and your family and everything that comes your way is a blessing in disguise. Our hearts and prayers are with you here in Virginia. Give him a kiss for us!! Love you, The Cote’s and Grandaddy Garrett and Mema Ruth 🙂

It’s Monday afternoon eastcoast time…I’m praying for your day today Lindsey and your’s Tiffany as life seems to go on as if everything is normal and yet it is so not. Thru this blog and you willingness to be transparent and share your heart, you have lifted up the name of Jesus.
